Porcelain onlay is a type of indirect permanent restoration used to replace metallic fillings or fractured portion of the tooth, to save more of the tooth structure than a crown.  When a tooth has lost a large amount of tooth structure either due to a cavity or fracture but is not large enough to require a crown, a porcelain onlay is the most durable, and the best way to restore that tooth.  This procedure requires two offices visits; first visit for the tooth to be prepared, impressed and temoporized,  then the second visit to permanently cement the onlay.

Veneers are thin custom-made, tooth-colored porcelain laminates that are bonded onto the fronts of teeth to create a beautiful individual smile.  They can help restore or camouflage damaged, discolored, poorly shaped, or misaligned teeth.  Unlike crowns, veneers require minimal tooth structure to be removed from the surface of the tooth.exposed root surfaces caused by gum recession.

Also known as “bonding”, composite(tooth colored) fillings are now widely used instead of amalgam (silver) fillings to repair teeth with cavities, and also to replace old defective fillings.  Tooth-colored fillings are also used to repair chipped, broken, or discolored teeth.  This type of filling is also very useful to fill in gaps and to protect sensitive, exposed root surfaces caused by gum recession.

Dental implants are artificial roots that are surgically placed into the jaw to replace one or more missing teeth.  Porcelain crowns, bridges, and dentures can be made specifically to fit and attach to implants, giving a patient a fixed, strong, stable, and durable solution to removable dental appliances. The results are esthetically pleasing and also extremely comfortable for the patients.
